Mischievous elements created a Facebook account of TRS leader K Chandrasekhara Rao and posted a list of candidates for the 2014 elections, creating panic among leaders and cadres of the party. A formal complaint with the cyber crime department is being lodged.

Kalvakuntla Chandrasekar Rao, the founder of Telangana Rashtra Samithi party, knows rough and tumble politics, not the software type of war. Imagine his consternation when some tech hands created a fake Facebook account and posted obnoxious things on the wall.

The party was in turmoil. Many called up KCR and other leaders and found they are as troubled as the cadres are. In the website, a list of 36 candidates for Assembly and four for Lok Sabha were posted, in which Vijayashanti was not a candidate from Medak constituency.

Sravan Das Dasoju, TRS spokesperson, said the matter came to the party’s notice three-four days ago. “It is a criminal act by someone who despises our party. KCR is a leader of stature and he has no time for this kind of fun and dark humour,” he said. Dasoju said action was being taken to trace the source.

The TRS leader said it was a deliberate ploy of anti-Telangana forces that want to ‘blacken the face’ of the leader and the T-cause. Additional commissioner of police Sandeep Shandilya said they were awaiting a formal complaint from KCR or TRS.

Interestingly, while KCR does not have an FB account (nor does he believe in this type of media), there already are a dozen or so facebook accounts in the name of TRS and KCR which, however, do not have objectionable materials. This is the reason the party did not complain about it.

Sources said the aggrieved party has to report abuse to the Facebook authorities to get it blocked.
