TDP to support TRS in co-op polls t.r.s.
Party politburo member and Telangana TDP Forum convener Errabelli Dayakar Rao on Friday announced that the party's support to the TRS would be restricted only to the cooperative polls.

Speaking to the media, he alleged that the Congress was duping the Telangana region and to contain it, the decision to support TRS was taken.

Dayakar Rao announced his party's support to the TRS for the second phase as in the first phase of elections, the Congress did well. The TRS did not capture a single society though it fielded very few of its candidates as it was not inclined to take the support of the TDP.

In the first phase elections TRS won only 94 directors posts out of 552 on Thursday while the TDP won 155 across 49 societies in the Mahbubabad, Mulug and Narsampet divisions.

In view of the intense competition expected to be witnessed in the second phase elections for 42 societies in the Warangal and Jangaon divisions, the TDP which has decided to block the winning chances of the Congress felt it would be wise to sail with the TRS.

Ministers Ponnala Lakshmaiah and Baswaraju Saraiah have been keeping in touch with their cadres to checkmate the rival parties in the Warangal and Jangon divisions. With the TD leader Dayakar Rao's statement, the two ministers have now started concentrating more on the second phase of elections.

Meanwhile, Chandrababu Naidu was reportedly upset with the offer made by Erraballi to TRS. The party chief is likely to probe the matter on Saturday and possibly reprimand the Telangana party MLA, sources said.
