New Crisis in UPA – NCP Crisis
New Crisis in UPA – NCP Crisis
With Sharad Pawar’s NCP clearly expressing their dissatisfaction with the congress government, Congress top leaders along with Sonia Gandhi and Manmohan Singh on Friday discussed the matter on how to deal with the issue. But it is learnt that the crisis created by NSP has not ended. Congress leaders believed that the problem will be solved by 20.7.2012 evening after the meeting but it has not happened. It is said that NSP president Sharad Pawar has sent letters to Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh stating that he will be withdrawing his party from UPA. It is also speculated that Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel have sent their resignations from the posts of ministers in UPA government to the Prime Minister.
There are seven members in Lok Sabha for NSP and 9 members in Rajya Sabha. It is learnt that Sharad Pawar has clearly stated in the letter sent to Sonia Gandhi that all these members will continue to be partners in UPA government. Congress leaders are trying hard to persuade Sharad Pawar. Congress Core Committee had a meeting on Friday evening to analyze the situations. Sonia Gandhi, Manmohan Singh and senior ministers attended the meeting.
Sources said that Sharad Pawar mentioned in his letter that his party is a small party and they have to make their party strong in future. He also stated that they want to allot more time to strengthen their party. It can be understood that Sharad Pawar is not only dissatisfied for not giving him the number two position in the party but he is not satisfied with the decision of Congress party to appoint Sushil Kumar Shinde in the place of Pranab Mukherjee. When Shard Pawar met Sonia Gandhi on 20.7.2012 morning many felt that all problems will be solved. But later Sharad Pawar and Praful Patel have departure to Mumbai to attend a meeting with their party MLAs in the state.
According to reliable sources, Pawar has informed Mrs. Sonia Gandhi that there is no respect for their party MLAs in Maharashtra and their party MLAs are dissatisfied. While talking to media on Friday, Praful Patel has not confirmed whether Sharad Pawar has sent resignation letter to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He said that Pawar is not bother about number two position and some Congress Leaders are the reason for spreading such rumors. With what Praful Patel said in the media, it is clear that the NCP crisis has not resolved yet.
