Telangana Issue will be Decided this Month: K Chandra Sekhar


New Delhi: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who remarked that there is no uniform opinion for the formation of separate Telangana state on 7th September, 2012 has said yesterday that they all are working to words resolving the Telangana issue. Manmohan Singh who said there is no uniform opinion for Telangana formation when CPI leaders met him has reacted differently on Friday. MPs from Telangana region Palvai Govardhan Reddy, Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar met Manmohan Singh on 8th September, 2012. They requested they requested the prime minister to take a decision by thinking scientifically and understand the feelings of people of Telangana. Reacting to this, PM said that they are working towards finding a solution to this problem.

Meanwhile TRS president K Chandra Sekhar Rae has said that central government will take a decision within ten days. He said that Congress will send mediators to him soon. He said to the reporters that he came to Delhi to be available for discussions and he will be in Delhi for another ten days.

On the other side Penname Prabhakar gave a call to launch Jai Andhra Agitation so that a decision on Telangana can be taken immediately. He gave this suggestion to minister Manikya Varaprasad when he met him in the Parliament Central Hall. Minister Manikya Vara Prasad ha told Ponnam that they have no objection if congress takes a decision favourable to separate Telangana state, he suggested that they should start the Jai Andhra Agitation.

Union Cabinet Minister of Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi has commented when Seemandhra MPs met him that agitations are going on in Telangana for separate state but there are no agitations in Seemandhra to continue united Andhra Pradesh. MPs then answered that after Sri Krishna Committee gave its report, people are confident that Telangana will not be formed, but if central government announced Telangana then there will be again disturbances in the area. Seemandhra MPs rejected the argument that announcing Telangana will give political benefits to Congress. They warned that announcing Telangana will do damage to Congress party in Telangana and Seemandhra regions. Kavuri, Rayapati, Undavalli, Seelam and senior congress leader Kaniteti Satyanarayana Raju are among those who met Vayalar. Seemandhra MPs also met Azad.
